In 2023, we were able to refocus on ideas and partnerships for the future of the Ukrainian healthcare system over the next 10-15 years.
The Ukrainian Healthcare Center (UHC) team focused on analytical projects and launched large educational programs for managers in healthcare, which we dreamed of since the day of the Center’s foundation. Of course, this could not happen without our old and new partners who share our values and approaches to change in the healthcare system.
Together, we developed the methodology and planning of the network of medical facilities, created a model of extended primary medical care (PMC+), reshaped the model medical services provision in penitentiary system.
At the same time, we continued our work on documenting war crimes committed by the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian healthcare system, analyzed the impact of the war on people’s health, and presented the results in Geneva at the 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council.

In 2023, the UHC team made a real breakthrough in educational projects for managers. Together with partners, we launched the master’s program “Management in Healthcare” at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and a practical course “Mini-MBA” for management teams of medical institutions. Besides, strategic sessions, trainings, webinars and lectures on leadership, fundraising, project management and healthcare agenda continued to be held for managers, doctors, and nurses.
In 2024, the UHC team shall direct its work focus on achieving the mission. We see the future, we are close to people, we train change makers, help the country in the war and build coalitions to transform the healthcare system of Ukraine.

We managed to achieve such results thanks to the support and cooperation with partners, consultants and everyone who continued to study, joined our events and implemented changes in their communities, medical institutions, in the Ukrainian healthcare system, and in Ukraine.
The UHC Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube pages are the main channels through which the UHC team shared their experiences in 2023.
